U.S. dairy export volume on a milk solids equivalent (MSE) basis climbed 14% in September with gains to most major markets and across products.

April proved another robust month of growth for U.S. dairy exports. Volume on a milk solids equivalent grew by 25% compared to April 2020, with gains in every major U.S. dairy product.

Increases in all major product categories, including records for NFDM/SMP and whey, drove U.S. export volume to an all-time high.

Despite having one fewer day in February 2021 compared to last year and U.S. suppliers still facing shipping delays, U.S. dairy exports surged in February.   

U.S. dairy exports posted the second highest January export volume on record (160,887 metric tons, milk solids equivalent) and third highest January in value ($505 million), despite shipping delays and logistics headaches.

Powered by strong whey and NFDM/SMP sales to Asia-Pacific, U.S. dairy exports posted their 14th consecutive month of year-over-year gains in October.

U.S. milk solids exports through three quarters of 2020 up 15.8% over the previous year.

Core products—NDM/SMP, cheese and whey—make for strong August.

NDM/SMP to Southeast Asia and whey to China continue to drive overall gains.
