By Margaret Speich January 5, 2016

The USDEC Dairy Commodity Price Finder App now offers mobile users a conversion calculator.

The U.S. Dairy Export Council constantly looks for ways to empower our members and the U.S. dairy industry with information technology that helps you do your job, even when away from the office.

One mobile tool is the updated USDEC Dairy Commodity Price Finder App.

mobile_phone_in_fist"When we introduced the app we had a simple plan to put commodity pricing information in a format that could be easily accessed by our members and industry,” said Daniel Ingram, vice president of information resources at the U.S. Dairy Export Council. “We recently added new conversion parameters that expand the functionality of our data and charts.”

Besides standard English/metric measures, the conversion calculator offers dairy-specific measures such as U.S. dollars per hundredweight (cwt) and New Zealand dollars per kilogram of milk solids.

You get pricing for cheddar cheese, butter, lactose, milk powder and whey. Set notifications to be alerted when new prices post.

“It is an indispensable tool in an increasingly itinerant working world,” Ingram said.

This short video shows you how to use it:
