Six U.S. dairy farmers on a U.S. Dairy Export Council (USDEC) mission this week are seeing how long-range investments into emerging markets like Chile increase demand for nutritious U.S. milk. 

The six U.S. dairy farmers in Chile this week are, from left, Marilyn Hershey (Dairy Management Inc. chair), Neil Hoff (USDEC founder), Larry Hancock (USDEC chair), Joanna Shipp (DMI board), Jim Reid (DMI board) and Alex Peterson (USDEC vice chair).

Over the years, these types of missions have given U.S. dairy farmers an opportunity to examine how big a bang they are getting for their checkoff bucks as the primary funders of USDEC.
